Fleet Finance

Fleet finance considers several commercial vehicles together or as coordinated agreements, allowing the business to present one capacity and replacement plan.

NBS Finance is a broker and introducer, not a lender. An enquiry does not guarantee an offer.

Plan the fleet as a dated programme

An itemised fleet schedule
Record for each vehicle Why it affects the proposal
Make/model, age, mileage and condition Shows valuation, remaining working life and whether the planned term is realistic.
Seller, price, VAT and contribution Separates each upfront cash need and any supplier or delivery dependency.
Delivery and first-payment dates Tests staggered arrivals against revenue start dates.
Replacement or expansion Shows which old payments cease, which settlements are needed and which new operating costs remain.
Existing agreement and settlement Avoids treating a vehicle’s market value as unencumbered equity.
Expected use and income Tests affordability across the whole fleet, downtime and lower utilisation.

Hypothetical programme: replace two vans in month one and add a truck in month three. Model each delivery deposit, VAT, first instalment and any old-vehicle settlement at its actual date. In month three, remaining old agreements may overlap with new repayments; a single average monthly figure can hide the peak cash need.

A grouped facility can coordinate assessment, but separate contracts may suit mixed assets, ages or delivery dates. Acceptance, limits and cross-security vary by provider. Compare total monthly commitments, overall cost, final payments and what happens if one supplier is late. A balloon or residual assumption needs a credible end plan rather than presumed resale value.

Use larger asset-finance preparation, truck and van guidance. Review existing vehicle finance separately; sourcing remains optional.

Need several vans sourced?

Describe the quantity, replacement schedule and whether the vans need the same specification. National Auto Sales can check suitable vehicle options separately from your fleet funding proposal.

Prepare the enquiry

Information that helps produce a useful answer

Providers set their own rates, charges, fees, security and terms. Clear evidence helps distinguish a viable route from an unsuitable application.

  • Full fleet and finance schedule
  • Vehicle quotations and replacement rationale
  • Contracts, utilisation and cash-flow impact
Important: A fleet proposal may still be documented as several agreements; structure and security are provider-dependent.

Fleet-programme questions

Can different vehicle types be funded together?

Some providers consider grouped requirements, but mixed ages, asset types, suppliers and delivery dates affect acceptance and structure. A single agreement is not guaranteed.

What if delivery is staggered?

Prepare a dated schedule and confirm when each deposit, payout and first payment occurs, including any approval expiry or re-assessment.

Should we replace or expand?

Compare existing settlement and maintenance costs with new payments, additional operating costs and realistic earning capacity.

How should we compare balloons or final payments?

Include them in total commitments, test a lower resale value and clarify who bears the shortfall and end obligations.
